Apparition of the heart by Ingrid Evans
No one ever asked for my heart, no one ever reached for my soul, or begged me to love him or her. But your heart called my name. It cried out loud for me and of course, I listened, I came. I ran towards our future, towards the echo of my name. Only to find darkness where the light had once been.
I listened for your heart but this time I only heard the silence echo so loud that I felt my heart break and my soul shatter. I searched for you, for us, for what we use to be. Everything was gone; all had disappeared as if it never existed, a mere apparition of my heart.
With not a sign left of the mirage that I had become infatuated with, I sit wondering was it ever real? Were you ever there calling for me, for my love? Or was it just a sweet dream containing stolen moments of things never meant to be?
I suppose that I should just be glad that I woke up………
